How to use the Illumin8 Menorah: A. The menorah’s integrated controller has three buttons: ON/OFF, BRIGHT, and +FLAME. 1. Pressing ON/OFF will cycle through 5 modes, in the following order: a) Steady On b) Fast Blink c) Slow Blink d) Fade In / Fade Out e) Off 2. Hold down BRIGHT to cause the Menorah to slowly become dimmer. Let go when the desired dimness is achieved. Hold down BRIGHT another time to cause the Menorah to slowly become brighter. Let go when the desired brightness is achieved. a) Tapping BRIGHT will not cause any change. BRIGHT must be held down to work. 3. Pressing +FLAME will add orange flames until all eight are lit. After all eight are lit, the Menorah will return to one. B. Mount the Menorah anywhere you would like your Chanukah pride on display. C. To power the Illumin8 Menorah, plug the integrated USB cable into any USB port that provides power. III. Mounting your Menorah A. On Your Home’s Windows 1. It’s suggested to use the suction cups for mounting on windows at home. 2. First, run the suctions cups under hot tap water to loosen the plastic, and then dry them. 3. Thread one nut onto each of the six suction cup bolts, until about halfway down the bolt (note that suction cup and adhesive bolts uses different sizes of nuts). 4. Put the six suction cup bolts through the six Menorah mounting holes (consider which direction you would like the Menorah to face while doing this step). 5. Put another nut on to each of the bolts. The Menorah should now be sandwiched between two nuts, such that it is secured to the bolt. 6. Dip your finger in a small quantity of water, and lightly coat the outer edge of each suction cup with the moisture on your finger (on the sticking surface side). 7. Ensure that the window is dry, and clean of oil and residue. 8. Press the Menorah against the window, and then push one suction cup, hard, against the window at a time. 9. Allow 24 hours for a maximally strong seal to take hold. 10. Tighten the nuts so that the Menorah is firmly held in place at the desired depth away from the window. B. On an indoor, non-glass surface 1. It is suggested to use the adhesive squares for mounting in this case, as the suction cups only work well on glass. 2. The adhesive is of very high quality, and can be used multiple times and at varying temperatures. It does not generally leave residue, but can be cleaned with WD-40 in the rare instance it does. 3. WARNING: On a painted surface, the adhesive may pull off paint when removed. To prevent this from happening, use a blow-dryer to heat the adhesive prior to removal from a painted surface. 4. Put one nut on each of the four adhesive bolts (note that suction cup and adhesive bolts uses different sizes of nuts) until about halfway down. 5. Put the four adhesive bolts through any four of the six Menorah mounting holes (consider which direction you would like the Menorah to face while doing this step). 6. Put another nut on to each of the bolts. The Menorah should now be sandwiched between two nuts, such that it is secured to the bolt. 7. Ensure the surface is dry, and clean of oil and residue. 8. Peel the protective plastic from the adhesive squares, and push the squares against the area you would like to mount the Menorah onto. 9. Tighten the nuts so that the Menorah is firmly held in place at the desired depth away from the window. 10. To remove the adhesive, use a fingernail or prying tool to lift a corner, and then pull the adhesive off the surface. C. On a Car Window 1. The Illumin8 Menorah can be mounted on either the inside or the outside of almost any car window. 2. EXCEPTION: The Menorah may not stick well to a rear windshield where black wire heating elements are in actual use for defrosting (while unused, they make no difference). 3. We recommend using the adhesive squares for car windows. While the suction cups do technically work, the adhesive squares have several advantages: a) Their bolts are longer, which is helpful for curved window surfaces b) They don’t need any preparation with water c) They are strong enough to stay on at highway speeds, outside the car, in cold weather (this has been tested on a trip from New York to Montreal!) d) Fewer of them are needed, which is helpful for smaller windows e) They can be removed easily, and reused at another location 4. Put one nut on each of the four adhesive bolts (note that suction cup and adhesive bolts uses different sizes of nuts) until about halfway down. 5. Put the four adhesive bolts through any four of the six Menorah mounting holes (consider which direction you would like the Menorah to face while doing this step). a) When using the Menorah on the inside of a car window, the bottom of the Menorah may overhang if the window is small. b) In this case, use the top four (or even just the top two) Menorah mounting holes. The Menorah will hold with just two adhesive squares if need be. Allow the bottom of the Menorah to rest against the car door.
